| Biography Eclectic Arts is run by Cassandra Tomaz. Cassandra Tomaz is an Anglo- Brazilian Actress and Dance Choreographer. Inspired by having a very musical and culturally artistic upbringing living and learning in Spain, Brazil and England, Cassandra started theatre at a young age, performing professionally from the age of 17. After training with a variety of Brazilian teachers both in England and Brazil, in 2005 Cassandra formed Eclectic Arts Dance Company. As a dancer she has performed and taught with various groups including Claudio kron do Brazil, Estrella de Norte, Maracatu Nao E, Niteroi Samba School, Brighton Dance Network, Brighton school of Samba, Voodoo Vaudaville, Cyba Drummers, CopperDollar and Danca Kaito. In 2003, Cassandra started her 3 year Acting training at ACT in Brighton.during which, she was performing regularly as a cabaret performer and as an in-house actress for Nothing to see here Productions, shooting regular music videos and short films. Since graduating, Cassandra has been working as a Choreographer and physical theatre performer, collaborating with Voodoo Vaudeville, Copper Dollar Theatre Company. Also parading and teaching regulary for Brighton School Of Samba as the Rainha de Bateria. In 2006, Cassandra developed a solo cabaret act, “Ai Ai Ai”, combining Samba and Latin dance, mime and physical theatre and has performed at various festivals and corporate events internationally including WOMAD, Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Komedia, Vibe Live, Google annual party, Science Live. She continues to take this show around new venues and is a regular performance strand of hers. Throughout Cassandra's artistic career, she has always been very keen to establish a theatre company that would combine the eclectic range of her theatrical skills and creative passions and produce exciting, visual and stimulating theatre. In 2007, Cassandra manifested this by forming kumpaniamaco Theatre Company with musical director Sam Alexander. |
